Young Venezuelan migrants with children in Peru: between the decision to migrate and the migratory route

Resumen
Reproductive responsibilities in people›s lives often shape their life trajectories. These responsibilities are also present in migrant individuals and families, having an important weight at the time of making the decision to migrate, and during the migratory trajectory. In this context, the article analyzes the coincidences and divergences in the trajectories of a group of men and women between 19 and 36 years old, young Venezuelan migrants with children, based on interviews conducted with them in the regions of Tumbes, Tacna and Lima during the first months of 2020. In particular, emphasis will be placed on the considerations they had when making the decision to migrate, as well as the challenges and difficulties that arise during the migratory route, both in cases where the decision was to separate from their children, as well as if it was to travel accompanied by them.
