520.3.#.a: This short Mopan text, "The Man Who Eats in the Dark", was told by a young man originally from the district of Toledo (San Antonio), but now living in San Antonio /Cayo in Belize. It relates how a dwarf persuaded a woman to go against her husband's wish that she never see him in the light. When she uses a torch to see his fase, he becomes very angry. A Spanish translation is given, and the English version provided by the informant is also included.
