520.3.#.a: This article presents an excerpt from Huichol (Wixárika) cosmogony that centers on the origin of women. The excerpt forms part of one of the stories that describe the birth of the Huichol people and their relation to a flood produced by Nakawé, an ancestral deity. The text includes the transcription in the writing system created for the Huichol language, morphological segmentation, glossing, and Spanish translation. The article provides ethnographic and linguistic information about the Huichol language as well. The ex- cerpt describes distinct aspects of Huichol cosmogony, the system of organization of the nuclear family, and its relation to the community of Tateikie (San Andrés Cohamiata, Jalisco). The context provided reflects the incorporation of Christian elements into Huichol symbology. The excerpt offers material for analyzing the grammatical structure of Huichol, a language for which there are few linguistic studies. Este artículo presenta un fragmento perteneciente a la cosmogonía huichol (wixárika), que cuenta el origen de las mujeres. La narración forma parte de una de las historias sobre el nacimiento de los hui- choles y su relación con un diluvio ocasionado por Nakawé, deidad ancestral. La presentación del texto in- cluye la transcripción en el alfabeto del huichol, segmentación morfológica, glosado y traducción al español. Además se proporciona información etnográfica y lingüística sobre la lengua. El relato muestra distintos aspectos de la cosmogonía, sistema de organización del núcleo familiar de los huicholes y su relación con la comunidad de Tateikie (San Andrés Cohamiata, Jalisco). Su contexto, asimismo, refleja la inclusión de elementos cristianos en la simbología de la tradición huichol. El fragmento, finalmente, permite analizar la estructura gramatical del huichol, la cual cuenta con pocos estudios lingüísticos.
