520.3.#.a: The weather conditions in Mexico and their related free·air flow patterns have been a matter of considerable conjecture in the past, due mainly to lack, of upper air data for the Mexican region. However, in the last few years, continuous improvement of the upper·air observing network has made possible the darwing of fairly reliable upper air charts over Mexico. Surface and upper air charts covering the United States, Mexico, Central America and adjacent waters are analized currently at the Main Meteorological Office of Radio Aeronáutica Mexicana, S. A. (RAMSA) in México City since its foundation in 1951. These charts include, besides the surface weather maps, charts of the 850, 700, 500, 400 and 300 mb pressure levels.
