Resumen
The relationship between healthy diets and a healthy planet with a healthy and sustainable lifestyle for individuals is currently recognized. Although the diet must meet characteristics to promote good health; Food produced, transported and consumed should not cause deterioration to the planet, avoiding overconsumption and food waste due to its impact on the use of resources for its production (CIAD, 2023). Like other countries, Mexico has worked on updating dietary guides for the Mexican population. The healthy and sustainable Dietary Guides for the Mexican population are a tool to help people have a healthy diet, through messages and practical advice that should be adopted for health, disease prevention and environmental protection. They are a tool that helps those who make decisions in the country, so that they can guide their policies and programs, in order to help adopt and maintain a healthy and sustainable diet (Secretaría de Salud, 2023). Therefore, the purpose of this article is to review the background of the creation of these instruments, the objectives and the specific information they cover, mainly the most recent published.
