Resumen
This paper document and disseminate the proccess of planning, construction, inauguration and start-up of the new library building “Dr. José Manuel Álvarez Manilla de la Peña” of the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Zaragoza of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). This building replaces the previous constructions, representing an opportunity for the librarian and information services to give a new meaning to the concepts of Learning and Research Resource Centre (CRAI), resizing the library space of the 21st century. The library seeks to establish a university libra framework that focuses its efforts on meeting the needs of users and on scientific communication, that is, contributing through information resources to the satisfaction of informational and recreational needs, because the culture and informal reading is also an enjoyment and social connection.
