520.3.#.a: The central point of this study questions the modalities of seeing presented by Otto Neurath in his posthumous text Autobiografía visual. The analysis concentrates on three matters set forth in the Autobiografía: the experiences of seeing, visual education and the democratization of knowledge. The conceptual distinctions between "the visible" and "the visual," "position-taking" and "taking sides", proposed by Didi-Huberman, are important references to approach such themes, since they enable us to reveal the tensions in the act of seeing that the Autobiografía presents. The article concludes with an introductory reflection on the ways in which architecture continues to activate some of Neurath’s most problematic theses, namely, the relationship he establishes between its graphic language and the strengthening of democratic societies, and last considers Farocki’s video-installation Deep Play as a counter-position to reconsider the difference between "taking position" and "taking sides". La pregunta sobre qué modalidades de ver presenta la Autobiografía visual, texto póstumo de Otto Neurath, es el punto central de este estudio. Éste se examina mediante tres temas planteados en la Autobiografía: las experiencias del ver, la educación visual y la democratización del conocimiento. Las distinciones conceptuales entre "lo visible" y "lo visual," el "tomar posición" y "tomar partido", propuestas por Didi-Huberman, serán referencias importantes para trabajar tales temas, ya que permiten mostrar las tensiones en el acto de ver que la Autobiografía presenta. Se concluye con una reflexión introductoria sobre las formas con las cuales la arquitectura sigue activando algunas de las propuestas más problemáticas de Neurath, a saber, la relación que establece entre su lenguaje gráfico y el fortalecimiento de las sociedades democráticas, presentándose, por último, la video-instalación Deep Play , de Farocki, como contraposición para reconsiderar la diferencia entre "tomar posición" y "tomar partido".
