Resumen
Today it is common to talk about women studying and working in any field, there are no longer gender restrictions to be able to perform in one or another profession or task. However, at the beginning of the 20th century it was still difficult to think about the inclusion of women in activities that were considered "only suitable for men" due to the ideology of the time that marginalized women"s tasks to: raising children children, housework and certain jobs such as embroidery, weaving, teaching, among others; considered to be female.
In this article, the women dentists who managed to complete their career in the first dental school in the country -now the Faculty of Dentistry of the UNAM- during its first two decades of existence are exposed. Women worth recognizing, because they shone with their own light in a time of marginalization and are now part of the history of a discipline that currently has a greater number of women enrolled in its enrollment.
