Resumen
Since obesity is a medical problem of increasing severity due to its morbidity and its high and increasing prevalence, the objective of this article is to review the factors that are related to obesity and some of the treatment proposals. Obesity is a disease with a high recurrence rate, which is associated with serious medical complications. Among the factors that have to be considered are genetic, metabolic, psychological and behavioral, in the latter are those associated with physical activity, food consumption, but also environmental and social factors, which can complicate the change in lifestyle. life. As obesity is a chronic medical condition associated with a high rate of morbidity and mortality, which also affects the social sphere, efforts are made to establish preventive measures, among which are mentioned, promotion of breastfeeding, to avoid adding sugars to the milk that children consume, provide timely information to the mother to respect the child’s gastric capacity, promote a lifestyle with greater mobility, the suggestion to limit television hours, promote the consumption of fruits and vegetables and the restricting the consumption of foods high in fat and sugar.
