Resumen
This paper deals with an ongoing study on the 1988 teachers" strike in Argentina, initially developed in the newspaper archive of the Library of the National Congress of Argentina based on a qualitative research design. As a preview, it offers three types of reflections that emerge from this experience: i) the modalities of problematization of the archive, ii) the interpretations of the 1988 teachers" strike and iii) the conceptions about the communicability of the research results. Particularly, on the second point, it presents preliminary findings based on a compilation of sixty-three newspaper clippings, which allow us to analyze events that motivate or anticipate the conflict, as well as shed light on the strategies or organizational modalities that the organized teachers deployed in the face of this limiting situation. These contributions are important to understand the definition of constitutive elements and ways of conceiving teacher trade unionism until today in Argentina.
