520.3.#.a: The O’dam (Southeastern Tepehuan) text that we present here is the result of four years of collaborative work. The text corresponds to a recording made in October of 2010 in the town of Tobaa- tam ‘Turkey Place’, Mezquital, Durango. The presentation of said text includes a transcription in the practical alphabet, morphological segmentation, glosses, and a Spanish translation. First, we highlight the importance of maize agriculture among the O’dam with regard to the ethnolinguistic groups of the historic-cultural region of the Gran Nayar: Huichol, Cora, Mexicanero, and the extinct language Tepe- cano. Second, we show that present-day O’dam reflects characteristics of a verb-initial language with certain correspondences to a verb-final language. El texto o’dam (tepehuano del sureste) que analizamos a continuación es resultado del trabajo conjunto que hemos venido realizando durante los últimos cuatro años. El texto corresponde a una narración registrada en octubre de 2010 en la localidad de Tobaatam, ‘La Guajolota’, en Mezquital, Durango. La presentación del texto incluye transcripción en el alfabeto práctico, segmentación morfológica, glosado y traducción al español. En el estudio subrayamos la importancia que tiene la agricultura del maíz entre los o’dam, en relación con los grupos etnolingüísticos vecinos de la región histórico-cultural del Gran Nayar: huichol, cora, mexicanero y tepecano (lengua ya extinta). Además, mostramos que el tepehuano del sureste en la actualidad refleja características de una lengua de verbo inicial con ciertas correspondencias de lengua de verbo final.
