Factors determining the supply of select fruits in Mexico 2001-2020

Resumen
This paper analyzes the factors of production, trade and macroeconomic that determine the exports of select fruits of Mexico in the international market during the period 2001-2020. To carry out this research, it was necessary to make a diagnosis of the commercial situation that fruits of the Mexican market face locally and internationally, in addition to the application of estimates of a supply model with panel data, with production, eco- nomic and commercial variables that, according to the literature review, drive the fruit sector. The above, in order to evaluate the relationship between the variables and thereby take into account a change in trade policies and achieve greater growth. Regarding the Mexican offer, we found that the most favored fruits are: avocado, lime and lemon, watermelon, banana, guava, mango, mangosteen; in this way the exports are determined by the internal production of the country, the price in the international market and the exchange rate.
