A partir del análisis de algunas de las antologías que, alrededor del tema, se publicaron entre 1998 y 2003, se busca entender la dinámica de organización de los grupos, la circulación de los autores, la importancia de su vinculación a universidades e institutos latinoamericanos o estadounidenses y se especula sobre qué ocurre hoy en el ámbito de la discusión.: The article sets out to think about the influence and importance of Cultural Studies in Latin America and if it is appropriate to talk about Latin American Cultural Studies. Based on the analysis of some of the anthologies on this issue published from 1998 to 2003, the authors intend to understand under what kind of criteria the groups are organized, which are the dynamics of the circulation of the researchers, what is the importance of their affiliation to universities and institutes located either in Latin American countries or in the United States, and, finally, the current state of this discussion. El presente artículo pretende reflexionar sobre la incidencia e importancia de los Estudios Culturales en América Latina y si es pertinente hablar de Estudios Culturales Latinoamericanos.
