This article pretends to point out the fact that the so called Children Literature has been an outrage, not to say a fallacy. That it is true that there are classifications to turn to for orientation in the literary phenomenon, but that the literary work is another world in itself, and that it provides us with a series of variants that encourage that sense of plurality in which the work develops. That the so called Children Literature is about subjects that concern all human beings, and that “infants” are not left out of them; that literature cannot, and neither should it try to have reserved subjects. That these come from a previous conception of a child that we ourselves have created, and will always see as “the one who does not speak.” Literature is just that, literature.
