Resumen
For several years now, there has been talk of the rapid statistical growth of obesity in various countries of the world and how this growth now represents a threat to the health of the entire population. It is a fact that one of the factors associated with obesity is focused on the aesthetic issue, even though there may be people with obesity who are considered metabolically healthy, but it cannot be ignored that overweight and obesity substantially increase the risk of suffering from various diseases and has also been associated with various psychological conditions, so this article presents a theoretical review of the main characteristics and differences of basic and complex emotions, emphasizing especially the definitions of social emotions, mainly the emotions of guilt and shame. A definition of emotion is presented, taking into account the analysis of the factors that are integrated in it, such as cognition, which is an essential part in its understanding, with that purpose a review of studies related to emotion was carried out. And it is concluded by highlighting the implications that all this has in a context in which moral emotions are associated with the weight condition, especially with obesity.
