520.3.#.a: The essay sets off from the contextualization of two notions and influences: the American by Frank Lloyd Wright and the European from Le Corbusier. Such contextualization grew within the Avant-garde known as Functionalism and Rationalism in order to deepen into the architectural percepts of the 20th Century. It also addresses the utilitarian function of human activities that have an impact on the purity of the form applied to architectural works in Mexico. This is characterized by the phenomenological deepening in space from the artistic and aesthetic perspective that gave meaning to a developed theoretical position at FES Acatlán between 1970 and 1980.
