520.3.#.a: The results of several geophysical surveys carried out through 1972 along the Mexican Volcanic Belt are summarized. The data admit a possibility of revising thc structural and crustal conditions on the basis of new hypotheses. Research on the attitude of certain local and regional blocks suggests some conspicuous paleogeographic and morphologic aspects. The anomalies fall between two ímportant ranges, those belonging to bodies of major size and those of strictly local type. In tectonically quiet regions some anomalies confirm the data of Woollard and Monges (1969). However, the contribution and integration of local geophysical surveys suggests an outline of zones of apparent crustal weakness associated with a geothermal pattern and/or hydrothermal alteration zones associated with structures of economic yield.
