Resumen
In Mexico, in recent times –particularly since 2023– the problem of academic plagiarism has become one of the most lurid and alarming issues that concern the scientific community. The truth is that cases of academic plagiarism, no matter how important they may be, the vast majority are forgotten, without any repercussions, unless it is a malpractice committed by officials, rulers or members of the Deep State.However, issues such as academic integrity and honesty must be understood as matters of the highest interest in university life, because plagiarism is a practice that harms us all, since it not only affects those who are part of the scientific union, since it its harmful effects permeate throughout society. For this reason, it is extremely important to insist on its correction, through measures and debates in which all the actors are involved, from teachers, researchers, students and authorities, in order to achieve changes that have a real repercussion and social impact.
