Resumen
The objective of the research was to determine the impact of information literacy on the quality of research projects at an ISIL School, as well as to demonstrate the validity of the hypothesis, which sustains that implementing an information literacy program would improve the quality of research projects among students of San Ignacio de Loyola Institute. The study adhered to a quantitative approach with a quasi experimental and longitudinal design applied to 60 students enrolled in a Research Workshop course in this higher education institution located in Lima. The study included an experimental group and a control group, which were given validated questionnaires before and after the program’s implementation to measure their command of elemental information literacy tools essential to research processes. We elaborated a rubric to determine the application level of the learned tools in the analyzed course. The results showed that the proposed program positively impacted the project’s quality and helped to develop information skills that allowed students to access, evaluate, and use quality information.
